Weldon is a Medic that was assigned with the Arctic Marines' Bravo Team to investigate the U.S. Outpost 31. The character appears in the 2002 video-game The Thing.

History[]

He was assigned to investigate the U.S. Outpost 31 after the US Military lost contact with them for several days, he arrived along with fellow members North, Burrows, and Captain Blake. During Bravo Team's investigation they discovered a UFO and an unidentified dead body, they also discovered the body of Childs. With no confirm survivors, Colonel Whitley ordered the outpost to be destroyed by planting C4 charges around the outpost. Bravo Team was ordered to return to base, but Blake insisted on assisting Alpha Team after losing contact with them at the Norwegian outpost, after Blake was dropped the others return to base.

Personality[]

Because of being a medic (and thus having less default courage than other classes) he shows a great amount of fear on the first level, at the sight of the infirmary corpse and from the UFO the team finds (Blair's UFO, the same one from the movie). Weldon wets himself at the sight of the UFO and shows a panic level. Also, when the team finds the first corpse, the medic will show such fright that he's at the verge of losing it completely. Despite his fear, Weldon was a loyal member of Bravo Team and promised to heal them ASAP if needed, stating that he was not "carrying any dead bodies back."
