Grenade - The Thing (1982)

The armed Norwegian readies a grenade as seen in The Thing (1982).

Grenades are any small bomb that can be thrown by hand. A variety of hand grenades exist, the most common being explosive grenades designed to detonate after impact or after a set amount of time. The weapon first appears in the 1982 film The Thing and is frequently used throughout the various films, comic-books and video-games as one of the explosive methods of destroying the Thing.

Grenade Types (2002 game)[]

There are 4 types of grenades featured in the 2002 video-game, with the first two grouped together in the Field Manual. Blake can't carry more than 10 of each type.

  • Standard Grenade - These are standard fragmentation grenades.
  • High-Explosive Grenade - A more powerful version of the standard grenade with both greater damage and area of effect.
  • Stun Grenade - A grenade variant capable of creating Flash-Bangs, use them to stun and confuse the enemy. Forces humans to drop their weapons - friend or foe.
  • Flame Grenade - A grenade variant which damage and spread fire within its blast radius. Capable of finishing off Things.
