The biobeast is a creature variant that was intended for inclusion in The Thing II, a planned sequel to the 2002 video game The Thing. However, it was ultimately scrapped after developer Computer Artworks entered receivership in October 2003[1]. Although cancelled, pre-production art guides were released, revealing the developers' vision for the game.

Background

According to the art guide description, the biobeast possesses several arachnid-like legs, while still retaining some humanoid features in its upper torso. Most of the body is bloated and covered with pustules, tubules, fanged mouths, and orifices which leak a toxic liquid. The creature, like many in the sequel game, was to have several stages of development with a simpler, slower variant (stage 1 biobeast) and a fully-evolved creature with the ability to spray acid and produce poisonous gas.
